In 2000, Ben Valore-Caplan developed a unique business plan for serving the multi-faceted needs of the philanthropic community.
Over subsequent years, Ben established teaching relationships with philanthropic affinity organizations, developed curricula and white papers for trustees and advisors, identified third-party technology solutions required by fiduciaries, and became a resource for understanding and promoting the needs of philanthropic clients.
Ben and colleague Brook Kramer earned the designation of UBS Institutional Consultant, an entitlement earned by fewer than 100 of the 8,500 UBS advisors.
At UBS, Ben earned the title of Senior Vice President-Investments. He served as a member of the UBS Institutional Consulting Advisory Committee, and the UBS Wealth Management Advisory Committee.
In 2008, Ben and his team launched Syntrinsic Investment Counsel in order to create a better structure for serving non profit institutions and philanthropic families. Syntrinsic represents the natural extension of Ben's original business plan and provides clients with more robust research, more flexible custody, and more cost effective access to an even broader universe of investment strategies.
